Commissioned by La Quinta High School. Hoi Am Que Nha (translated: The Warmth of Home) is a poignant choral work for SAB choir, flute, bass drum, harp, and piano, exploring the emotional landscape of immigration, memory, and belonging. Through evocative imagery of clouds, bubbles, and waves, the piece traces the journey from homesickness and longing for a distant homeland to finding warmth and connection in a new land. Drawing on personal and communal histories, it weaves themes of childhood, sacrifice, and cultural heritage into a lyrical tapestry that celebrates resilience, family, and the enduring ties to ones roots.
Con Cò (The Stork) is a choral work consisting of partner songs and a round, suitable for beginning-level elementary or middle school ensembles. Con Cò symbolizes peace, perseverance, and maternal care in Vietnamese culture, often representing the quiet strength of rural life and the deep bond between parent and child. The image of the stork is closely associated with lullabies and folk poetry, making this piece especially appropriate for young singers as an entry point into Vietnamese musical traditions.

The Promised Land is a SATB bilingual choral work that tells the story of the immigrant experience in Vietnamese and English, reflecting the journey from homeland to new beginnings.
Rooted in personal memory, the piece explores hope, freedom, and opportunity alongside the enduring ache of homesickness and distance from family. Drawing on Vietnamese cultural imagery and lived experience, it gives voice to stories often left unheard in choral literature.
